Rush Limbaugh at CPAC (2009)Rush Limbaugh is an American radio talk show host. In 2008, he famously signed an eight year, $400 million contract with Clear Channel. Since national syndication of his program in 1988, Rush Limbaugh’s show has become the most listened to radio show of all time. His brash style, and unique perspective is oftentimes credited as a main catalyst for the Republican takeover of the house in 1994 under the leadership of Newt Gingrich.

Quickly after storming onto the scene, Limbaugh expanded his network by publishing a book and hosting a television show. In 1992 he published The Way Things Ought to Be and in 1993 See, I told you so, both of which became bestsellers. Then, for four years, from 1992 until 1996, Limbaugh hosted a television show.
