OBAMA CELEBRATES DEBT HIKE:1,700-CALORIE BURGER BINGE
Obama’s debt team went out for some delicious food at Good Stuff Eatery on Capitol Hill Wednesday. Interesting? Not usually. But as Obama’s wife traipses about the nation telling children that they need to eat more healthily and mind their vegetables, it is notable that President Obama consumed about 1,700 calories during the sitting. While the average person might laud the President’s impressive eating feat, the way that liberals have created pariahs out of smokers, criticizing even the way they are portrayed in commercials and the media in general, it seems a bit hypocritical for a President who advocates for healthy eating to so publicly snack upon such a decadent, celebratory bit of delicious vein-blocking filth.
The White House indicated that the meal was one of celebration, a pat on the back for the debt team’s incredible, “nonstop” work over the course of the last few months. Their contentious deal with Congress extends the governments ability to borrow, ending the debt-ceiling standoff that has put the nation upon tenterhook as many analysts have warned of the United State’s worsening financial situation slowly choking the world’s most important economy. Obama signed the debt ceiling extension Tuesday, barely beating the purported deadline, which increased the US’ borrowing limit to $2.4 trillion.
Obama’s frequent burger outings have given those burger joints located in the Nation’s Capitol to receive a fair amount of national press. Recently, he treated Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to a burger accross the way in Arlington at Ray’s Hell Burger. And has frequented the now-expanding franchise Five Guys. Ironically, this unhealthy burger binge is one more likely approved by the Presidents health-conscious wife. In fact, they have even named one of their (perhaps) healthier sandwiches after her – The Michelle Melt Free Range Turkey Burger.
Obama’s frequent eating of burgers has definitely caught the eye of the nation. It was, after all his first meal on Air Force One, and it has remained the most commonly ordered food during the President’s campaign stops.
Today, his caloric cheeseburger and marshmallow shake have taken the nations eyes off the debt ceiling controversy that riled the nation – at least for the moment. Perhaps burgers are a good thing to order for the man who would credit his team for a job well done (get it?)… after all, in this whitehouse, a job well done is kind of… rare.
