Madame XianChina has an obsession with attractiveness. And it seems no one can escape the government’s desire to rate women. (remember that adorable child who lip-synched for the less adorable child at the olympics?). This year, in celebration of International Women’s Day, China’s party newspaper, The People’s Daily published an article entitled “Beautiful female journalists at two sessions“. It appears that this is becoming a bit of tradition, as last year China’s State news wire ran the article “Attractive females at NPC, CPCC sessions” in celebration of the same day.

In China, pornography is illegal, even though it’s not too difficult to find. Which might be why, even in state media, they run articles like this. Apparently, even in an oppressive nation, filled with state-run propaganda sex sells.
